Denim Ruffle Purse

Good morning!

I thought that you might enjoy seeing the ruffle purse that I am making. Of course it is made with denim and I am falling in love with it. I haven't quite finished it yet but you can't really tell from the picture. All the ruffle gluing is taking longer than I thought. Why is it that when you dream these things up in your head they seem so easy. Just a little cut here and a little glue there, so simple right. It is fairly simple actually, just took a little more time than I thought.

Here is how it looked before I started. Well, to be honest, I had already started to paint the sides and then I realized that I hadn't taken the before picture. That is way too much silver!

Now paint, paint, paint all the sides that aren't going to be covered with the denim.

Now cut, cut, cut all your strips into 2" wide pieces. Bye, bye blue jeans.

Glue all the strips to the purse with a hot glue gun and scrunch as you go along. There it is! A beautiful ruffled jean purse!

Finding the Time

So, I am having a hard time finding the time to blog....BOOO! It seems like all I have done lately is dream up new ideas and instead of actually doing any of them I am just dreaming up more. :) I have to say that I do really like to dream things up though. Sometimes the thought of creating something and what color it will be and what shape it will be and what mediums you will use to make it can be just as exciting to me as the actual creating.

So, while walking the drearies away yesterday I decided that I am going to paint the rocker black and see if I can pull off an antique look for it. Also, I decided what to do with an old purse that I found at the second hand store the other day. The purse is an old silver clutch and I have decided to refurbish it with...dum da da dum...(that's my drum roll). DENIM! I know that this will not come as a shock to most of you. :) Yes, denim is my favorite fabric to work with. I am going to get started this as soon as I can. I have it all laid out in my mind what I would like to do, now I just need to make that plan come to life.

Enjoy your day...I can't wait to start mine!

Starting up again!

I haven't blogged in a very long time and I have decided to start up again. I do enjoy all my crafting projects so, so much and why not document all the projects that I do. I am starting a new project refinishing a rocking chair that I have had for about three years now. The dog decided he really liked it as a chew toy. Thank you so much Bruno! :) The dog does it again! So here it is with all the chewed parts filled with putty...soon I will post the painting of the chair and the finished product. I think it will turn out fabulous!

To be continued....
